Studies show that US coverage is Israeli-centric. The main bureaus for CNN, Associated Press, Time, etc. are located in Israel and often staffed by Israelis. The son of the NY Times bureau chief is in the Israeli army;"pundit" Jeffrey Goldberg served in the IDF; Wolf Blitzer worked for AIPAC. Because the U.S. gives Israel over $8 million/day - more than to any other nation - we feel it is essential that we be fully informed on this region. Below are news reports to augment mainstream coverage.

Women demonstrate in Gaza to support Palestinian UN bid

GAZA, (WAFA) – A mass women’s demonstration took place in Gaza on Wednesday in support of the Palestinian request for a full United Nations membership of a Palestinian state this Friday.

The demonstration, organized by the committees of Palestinian women’s struggle, began in front of the Red Cross and headed to the UN headquarters in Gaza City.

The participants sent out a memo in which they called UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon to exercise his role in supporting the Palestinian bid to the UN, considering it the choice to help achieve peace and security in the region.

“After 18 years of signing the Oslo accords, the facts on the ground and the experience with successive Israeli governments, our people now realize that there is no Israeli partner for peace,” the memo said.
